Only known Younglove to have lost his life for his country during this campaign.

John's name is listed in the Court Of Honor and Flag Circle. A memorial dedicated to the American and Marianas people who died in "Operation Forager," the battles for Saipan and Tinian, and the Battle of The Philippine Sea during World War II. The initial waves of the 2nd and 4th U.S. Marine Divisions stormed the narrow beach head at Saipan on June 15, 1944.

For 2,875 Marines this would be their last invasion.
